How do I apply to join the Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme?

The Lionheart Educational Trust Duke of Edinburgh Award 2026/27 Programme will launch for Year 9 Students and above from September 2026. We will be running a series of Webinars to share more information at the beginning of next year - dates will be confirmed.

The closing date for initial payment and applications will be Friday 16th October 2026.

The prices for the each level of the award are listed below and will be payable on Beehive in two instalments.

These prices include;

  • DofE Award Registration,
  • Expedition Training/Support/Assessment from specialist Outdoor Instructors,
  • Tents and Camping Equipment,
  • Expedition Rucksack loan (65-75 Litres capacity),
  • Campsite Fees and,
  • Transport/Accommodation for Silver and Gold.

Excluded is Expedition Food and personal Expedition Clothing E.g. Walking Boots, Waterproofs. A full list can be found on the Expedition page here.

Students in receipt of Pupil Premium or the Post 16-19 Bursary will receive 50% towards the total cost of the Award; Bronze (£157.50), Silver (£212.50), Gold (£267.50). For further information please contact Ian Coward, DofE Manager ([email protected]).

PLEASE NOTE: The first payment includes a 30% non-refundable deposit and we cannot guarantee any refunds of the payments made should Students chose to discontinue. We will however assess any potential refunds dependent on the timing of payments/commitments made to suppliers and can postpone individual Expeditions to the following year if feasible.
